How to be successful - insights from Lisa Leslie

In October 2024, I attended a healthcare IT conference in Chicago. Lisa Leslie was a featured speaker. The session format was an interview/discussion. I didn't know much about her until I googled her and listened to the session. I enjoyed listening to her interview. Here are some insights I got from her interview: Her mindset is that she can do anything if she's willing to make sacrifices. Not everyone is willing to make sacrifices. When setting goals, write it down and make it visible to be reminded daily to reach the goal. Resilience is a mindset; CHOICE (Competence, Hard work, Optimism, Integrity, Courage, and Execution) Leadership tips: Position your people for success; Invest time to help your people; Create relationships with colleagues; Be genuine on how you invest in your people; Be humble; Give yourself grace; Don't do by telling - do by showing.
